Onion paratha

Onion paratha is just mixing and preparing, no stuffing involved. Sounds cool rite!!! When in hurry you can do onion parathas. If you are out of vegetables but carving for any parathas. Try this.....

Ingredients:
  • Whole wheat flour - 2.5 cups
  • Medium onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Small green chilly - 1(chopped)
  • Green coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Tymol seeds (ajwain) - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water(lukewarm)- 1/2 cup

Method:

Place all the above ingredients into a large bowl and mix well except water.
Add water little by little and knead for 5 minutes. Cover and leave for 20 minutes. Divide into 7 equal portions. Flatten it and roll into small circle.
Smear half with some oil and fold in half and then smear to triangle. Roll out again to thick triangular shape.

Heat a skillet on medium heat. Place the onion parthas on skillet and heat both sides with some oil.

Serve with natural plain yoghurt, butter or any side dish.

Note:
  • Since onions leaves water when mixed with salt, add water little by little to form a pliable dough.
